SJP Interiors was appointed to deliver a full design and build fit-out for Datron, transforming an existing space into a fully functional, modern commercial environment.
The existing building required significant upgrades to bring it in line with modern standards. This included structural changes, new service installations, and a complete reconfiguration of internal layouts.
With multiple workstreams running simultaneously, the project required tight coordination across design, compliance, and construction to ensure everything aligned with building regulations and programme timelines.
The Solution
Design & Compliance
The project began with a detailed design phase, ensuring the layout supported Datron’s operational needs while maximising the use of space. SJP also handled all building control administration, ensuring full compliance with regulations throughout.
Structural & Core Works
The site was fully stripped out to create a clean starting point. From there, key structural works were carried out, including:
- Creation of structural openings to improve flow and accessibility
- Brickwork and blocking to support the new layout
Internal Build & Layout
The internal environment was completely reconfigured to create a functional and well-organised workspace. This included:
- Installation of partitions to define working areas
- Carpentry works for bespoke finishes and detailing
- New ceilings and insulation upgrades to improve performance and comfort
- Floor screeding to prepare for final finishes
Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)
A full M&E package was delivered to modernise the building’s infrastructure:
- Complete electrical installation
- Data cabling to support business operations
- Fire alarm system for safety compliance
- Ventilation and HVAC systems to ensure a comfortable working environment
Facilities & Finishing
SJP also delivered all key amenities and finishing elements, including:
- Installation of new toilet facilities
- Full decoration throughout the space
- Fire stopping works to meet safety standards
External Works
To complete the project, several external upgrades were carried out:
- Installation of internal and external roller shutters
- New external door access
- EV charging points to support future-focused operations
- External lighting for improved visibility and security
The Result
The result is a fully transformed commercial space that supports Datron’s day-to-day operations.
